Today for family night while Matt was at school Jaxson and I got to work on making this luv bug box. We had to make sure the bugs had a place to visit and leave Valentine's.

Last year at Hayden's house the bugs left foot prints in pixie stix dust and quite some yummy goodies. We're hoping this year they find our house as well now that we've made them a box!

I tried to get Jaxson to take a picture with his box but it was no use he was already tired and I suppose the box looks cute on its own..oh well. Maybe next time!

Where are we?

WOW! All I can say is things here have been crazy for quite a long time and I'm finally getting back to this. The business has improved amazingly. Thanks a lot to Matt's wonderful mother and a whole heck of a lot of work from all of us! It has been fun and we hope it continues to grow.

Jaxson has gotten so big and so smart he outwits us way too often! If you haven't seen him in a while watch out! He's a smart one!

Matt is still hitting the books and working. Poor guy! He's so busy but we hope it will be a good experience and be done before we know it.

These next two pictures I find quite hysterical because this is my 2 1/2 year old reading Harry Potter. Yes, he is a book lover and no he can not read these but he makes up quite a story trying. Ask him to tell you a Harry Potter story. I'm telling you it's awesome!

Aw...I love these two! Playing "guys" I love listening to them play. I frequently end up laughing at the funny things they both say while playing. How cute are they?

A FUNdraiser to help Matt through school.

We had an interesting idea today but decided before we moved forward to see if we could get some help and opinions.
Matt is trying to get back into school. He is actually starting in May to even go through the summer but unfortunately our funds our lacking. He would qualify for grants but he has only completed 2 classes and since one of those classes was not so easy his GPA plummeted and he needs to pull it up in order to get the grants so we have to pay for this semester but even with the grants I'm sure you all know books aren't cheap.
We were thinking that we have a few things that have been handed down to us or that we used a long time ago that we need to get rid of. We also do have a small business and mothers day is coming up. We thought perhaps we could throw a bake/garage sale.
We have a few things but would appreciate any donations. We were also thinking of putting together some mothers day treats and selling gift certificates for our photography.
The real question here is what you (anyone who may be reading this...) thinks of this idea?? If it doesn't sound fun or you wouldn't come we can't really put in the time, money, and effort.
Please let us know what you think or if you'd like to help. We would be doing it a week from Saturday.
Any suggestions?

Life at the Porters

Life is interesting don't you think? We have been busy ourselves trying to figure out how to get through school, work, (yes those are both Matt) have fun, and grow as a family. It is extremely trying at times just to let the Lord take control and do what we know we have to do. We feel ready to finally hit school straight on and do what we feel needs to be done as a typical stepping stone in life and our hopeful that finances will fall into place.
I (Heidi) have done a few photo shoots to fill in the money gaps and am hopeful that if I can get my business organized we will be doing fine. Unfortunately our entire family budget and work (photo work) spread sheets have disappeared. (STUPID PC!) At least I love my extremely old Mac and believe it or not the thing works a lot smoother than the less then year old PC. So, we will be spending our nights and weekends (after Matt starts school I've got to get in the time with him while I can) redoing all our accounting and hopefully it will be better organized in the end.
Jaxson has dealt with my less then happy mood now and again while I try and focus on the big picture. I get easily overwhelmed with how little I know about budgeting and accounting and all my efforts that have not ended well. Time to try again. What a good kid he is! He seriously acts more adult then I do at times. He knows exactly when I am overwhelmed and always asks what's wrong. I just don't like not knowing things. HA HA!
We have a lot of fun together (Jaxson and I). He has an excellent imagination! We like to dance, read, sometimes sing, play ninja turtles, and go over all his comic book heroes. He also likes to cook which means a few of our meals have been mixed in bowls on the floor. I can't believe how much he has already picked up from Matt and I in his 2 1/2 years. It is so true that you need to be an example and teach kids while they are young. I'm so grateful we made some of the goals that we did before we had him and stuck to them even when he was too young to know what was going on.
Matt and I are gearing up for weeks of alone time or mom time depending on who we are talking about as summer school looms ever nearer. We feel ready for the challenge that Matt is taking on and think that we are finally in a place in our lives where we can handle this better than we have in the past. I have loved the long talks and many prayers that have gotten us here even though they were rough and am ready for the ones that will be coming no doubt. I love that man so much I can't stand it. Seriously, I don't think there is a guy on the planet that is so sweet and to me! I really don't deserve ya babe. So, wish him luck with school and give me a call I will have time to spare!
Also I have been greatly uplifted lately by many around me and a few books I have read about Motherhood and finally understand why it is so hard (not that that will make it any easier) I am frustrated by the way the world looks at us (mothers) and doesn't see success. Are you kidding me? There is nothing more successful than this! It is so trying at times but would I really rather spend my days at the stock exchange or pushing numbers? NEVER! So, why is it that the world thinks I should? They just don't get it... and probably never will. I'm so glad I am a mother. Nothing in this world has made me try so hard to learn, grow, work hard, and be an all together better person then having someone put in my responsibility to teach. I think most the time we just don't feel up to the challenge but if I couldn't handle it he wouldn't be here and honestly I think I would still be the laziest person ever! (really, i was lazy!) So to all of you mothers out there that may read this know that you are doing something amazing! You ARE contributing to society! This doesn't mean life is over for you and you will never get to do anything for you ever again but you will have to sacrifice. What better way to learn! Just love those kids they are worth it and so are you! Enjoy the challenge nothing will make you better than those kids.

Welcome Baby Salway! Our newest nephew...

This little fella' was born yesterday Friday the 27th of February at Jordan Valley Hospital.
He weighed only 5 lbs and 7 ounces and was barely 17" long.
Last we heard they "think" they are going to name him Crew Davis Salway but Brody is still an option. We will let you know when we do. We are so happy that everything went so smoothly and can't wait to hold him again. Jaxson was so excited all day long. One day he will make an excellent big brother (no still not pregnant promise)
Here are a few snaps. You can't ever get excellent pictures in a hospital but they will suffice for now I plan on raiding them for more pictures with the other cute Salway kids soon.

Valentine's Day

We had a lot of fun this Valentines. We didn't bother trying to find a babysitter but let Jaxson join in on the fun though after ALL that fun we did put him to bed early. He had a little too much sugar and was off the walls.

Jaxson got a new book (I wish that I had duck feet) which is Matt's all time favorite kids book and of course some spiderman chocolates. He also happened to get a new pair of shoes which weren't exactly for Valentines but came at the same time....so...

Matt got his favorite homemade dinner fettucini alfredo, garlic bread and banofee pie. It was SO good! He also got a fantastic massage and we watched a very less then entertaining movie.?!?

Lucky me got some lovely and quite sweet Valentines notes hidden all over in my clothes pockets. Jaxson told me he loved me cause I was princess leia and also that I taught him how to play pirates and say ARR. (which I did!) Then Matt played the guitar and sang the song 1,2,3 which was probably my favorite gift. I love when he plays for me.

So Valentines was a big hit at our house. Enjoy the pics.

It has taken me my whole life to understand even this much about love. Not just love towards my husband and son but to my family, friends, neighbors, and so called enemies. (which I suppose at times have been all of the before mentioned) I am not a very forgiving person. I don't let people in to my life because of fear and believe me I fear many things. I have resented and been jealous and very UN understanding.

Yes I am a quiet person and I do hate that quality of myself. It is what causes me to hate so many things because I don't get to understand them. I have chosen at times to handle things the wrong way over and over again. But, I finally feel like in the end I have no choice but to love whoever and whatever is staring me in the face.

I hope I can be more understanding. I hope my family including Matt and Jaxson can forgive me for having such a hard time with things and not handling the situations that have occurred these past three years the way I should have. I hope I handle them well and grow from them from here on out.

If I have hurt you I am sorry. I have no right to judge.

I do not believe that love can make all wrongs right. A wrong is a wrong and that can only be fixed with love through the lord. I do believe however, that love is what helps us to ignore those wrongs and to work through them and love despite them.

I hope I can use my love more wisely.

BEGGING for a workout!

This may sound a little ridiculous but I am extremely weight conscious. Matt and I both want to workout and lose some poundage but seriously don't know where to turn.
We were hoping perhaps someone could give us some ideas. We have no money and no equipment. It is freezing outside. We would find time to run outside together but would have to take Jaxson in order to do that and don't want the poor boy to freeze.

I am so frustrated! I have no idea what to do and we are both begging each other to do something but can't think of a single thing to do.

We have looked up exercises to do together inside without the equipment but it is nearly impossible to do them without someone telling you how many to do and how long to do it. We do it for a while but I stop before I ever feel like I've gotten a workout.

What would you do?

I don't know why but lately I can not sleep and it is driving me crazy. It totally is not good or healthy but I'm sure soon enough I will return to my usual schedule. It is probably just the holidays.

So, here I am at one in the morning with nothing to do and no way to knock myself out. I figured that I hadn't been on here in a while and that a little update might be nice.

I can't believe how fast time flies. I used to think days lasted way to long and now I wish all the time I could slow them down a little. Jaxson is getting so big. He says the cutest things and is so sweet. I am so lucky to hear that little boy say "mom..." "I love you." everyday! He loves to cuddle and of course make my day. He is just like his dad. He always knows when I'm frustrated or upset and lets me know by asking "mom, what's the matter?" He could probably name every super hero ever imaginatively created. He could sing any song after hearing it once or at least the most important parts. His dad is his favorite person to hang with and I'm his favorite cuddle partner. He loves to run all over the house and gets extremely hyper before nap or bed time but that makes for some great laughs. I guess I'm just really lucky to have such a cute boy.

Matt is well...he's amazing. I can not believe the things that man will put up with. I drive myself crazy. He never wants to fight so he is very good at communicating and he is the best problem solver. He reminds me a lot of my grandpa which is a huge compliment. He is very sweet and really cute. He'll do anything to make me happy. I just hope I don't run him out with all my craziness.

I love my two boys and all that I have been blessed with. We have had a hard few years but great ones as well and I look forward to this one just as much if not more. You learn to love the kicks and bumps in the journey after a while.

3rd Anniversary

Matt and I had our third ((can you believe that?!?) anniversary a week ago today. We were married December 15, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple.
I remember exactly how I felt that day. I knew a few people thought we were crazy. Matt had only been home from his mission 3 months. Before his mission we didn't really date. Well we wnt on dates but we were just friends. I guess as far as I was concerned anyways.
I just can't believe how blessed I am. The lord really helped bring us together and even though it seemed fast to other people it felt right to us and we now know why. It was weeks later (not even months) that I really needed him and could not have made it to where I am today with out his amazing spirit. I love you Matt! Forever and Ever babe!

How I Met Matt

1.Where did you meet?

It definitely depends if you are asking me or Matt this question. Honestly though we met when I was a junior in high school and he was just out of high school. We met my first day of work at Dick's Market. He was a checker and I a lowly bagger girl. We were instant friends.

2.What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?

I don't remember a lot of that day. I was training and thought he was really cute. The girl training us I was pretty sure he liked (which I found out later he had but apparently was just getting over her or something) I kept getting him confused with someone else. Sad I know. I felt really dumb. I remember he told me to call him Porter.

3.Do you remember what he/she was wearing?

Jeans a white Dick's Market shirt and blue apron.

4.Where was the first time you kissed this person?

LOL! In front of his car at Kayla's house about a week or two after he got home from his mission.

5.Where did you go for your first date?

The movie the Ring which is probably the last scary movie he saw or will see with me. Sorry hunny.

6.How long did you know this person before you became a couple?

About three years.

7.How did he/she ask you out?

Well our first date we kind of flirted around with the idea for a while. I was just out of a long relationship (I know in high school?!?!) So, I was a lot of anti guy. I got off early from work on a Saturday someone talked about the movie and said we should see it it looked scary. Matt somehow switched around his schedule to get off when I did and worked out a date all at work. He is pretty slick. What can I say?

8.Has this person ever proposed to you?

9.Do you and this person have kids together?

One so far. Jaxson he just turned 2.

10.Have you ever broken the law with this person?

Uh....I don't think so :S

11.When was the first time you realized that you liked this person?

Well I think I liked him a long time before I actually admitted it to myself. I'm kind of a relationship phob. I would say his mission farewell but I thought he liked someone else by then and she kind of made me feel stupid. So, our farewells before he left were really pathetic. He didn't find out that I liked him until about the end of his mission.

12.Do you get along with his/her family?

I love his family!

With my life.

I can't see my future without him.

Wow way too many! He is the greatest and way too sweet to me. He tries to get me whatever I want even when I don't tell him. I'm way too spoiled.

I just hate nintendo and so if I'm ornery and he's playing I just have to leave the room. I'm weird.

Done with school with three kids. Having tons of fun and loving each other more than ever. Hopefully still running a business together and Matt having his dream job at some awesome tv/radio station.

We've had these pumpkins lying around forever. (we still have two uncarved) Jaxson and I had some spare time on our hands and decided to let our artsy side show. That's just what we do in this family. Anyways they turned out alright. Jaxson wanted Curious George so I did the best I could. That boy loves that monkey. I tried a little trick with our names. It was tricky and I've learned a few things for next time but it looks decent. What do you think?

WOW! I can not believe he is two. He still feels so little to me and then I look at him and talk to him and realize Jaxson is not a little baby any more. He is so smart and so sweet. He always cheers me up! I am not always the best mom but he is always the best little boy. We've learned a lot together and our family has been so blessed to have him. We love you little guy! Most of you reading this are probably not surprised that I think October is Awesome! My Birthday is this month and so is Jaxson's which is so much fun. We can have costume parties and do totally fun stuff for his birthday that you couldn't get away with any other month. Halloween is fun and I really do love it despite what all of you may think.
I am a chicken and so that gory yucky part I'm not real fond of but the rest I thoroughly enjoy.
My dad has grown some totally awesome pumpkins this year that we will be picking on Saturday and the kids are painting them in between conference. How fun huh? Jaxson has been checking on those pumpkins for weeks. He loves the garden. I'm not sure why I'm not really good with our garden....
Anyways, this is totally the best time of year for pictures and look at me not a single picture in this post. That is really pathetic. I'm sure I will be adding some soon. Also if you want some family pictures or just pictures of your kids now is the time to do it so...get calling. Oh I love it autumn pictures are so cute!

A call for help! no worries nothing scary!

Well, as I guess a lot of you know I will be taking pictures at a local elementary school fair to help the PTA and our business get some money. We will also be booking pictures, christmas cards, etc. Anyways I have a lot ready but I want the booth to look pretty cool and pictures to be fun as well but I have like NO cool decorations our furniture to make it look fun. I was thinking of having some kid furniture for pictures and then I wanted some classy kid friendly stuff to spice up my booth. Any ideas at all people? I really need help. We are so poor and I have too many ideas. LOL! Well hit me with any suggestions. I'm all ears and hope you will all be willing to share. Thanks guys!

My sister and step sister invited me to two dollar Tuesdays at the Thanksgiving Point Children's Discovery Garden. Jaxson and I headed up as a last minute decision and we are so glad we did. IT was super hot but it was way fun!

Summer has been extremely crazy around our house. I've had my share of photography bookings (which I love). It hasn't been too busy but busy enough. I love it. Matt has been working for Orbit Irrigation where he has been promoted and will be continuing after the summer is over. He heads back to good ole' Weber University in the Fall where he will be starting on a communications Electronic Media degree. I really think he is going to enjoy most of this degree. However, he absolutely hates school. It will be hard being away from each other so long. We really aren't good at it. Hopefully we can figure schedules out and adjust to make it easier on Matt and Jaxson and I. We're trying to make it fun for everyone and are still not so great at the positivity. (That would mostly be me I'm awful) Jaxson is all over the place and a load of fun. We've had an awesome summer taking him to baseball games and parades. He loves everything. He is getting really good at baseball. He can bat amazingly for a kid under 2 and he catches great and he can definitely throw. Matt and I have been surprised at how fast he picks it up and how much he likes it. I guess it runs in the genes eh grandpa? The heat has had its ups and downs for us. I love being able to take Jaxson for walks but with my skin type we can't stay out too long with out loading on the sunscreen. Our backyard is fun too but we live on a pretty busy street and one side is not fenced off. I would fence it but the house isn't ours. So, we have a hard time enjoying the outside when we are home all day but we do what we can. Jaxson is absolutely in love with the water. If it is around anywhere he will be wet and quickly. He has learned how to use our hose and it is funny but messy. We love it though.
This year has also had some rough patches. Both Matt's Grandfathers have passed away and My grandmother in the past six months. It has been hard but we have learned that things happen for a reason from many other experiences in the past two years and have decided that maybe it is a wake up call to us. We need to prepare ourselves for the future.
Lots of good news has arrived as well My best friend Tisha just had a baby boy last night (yeah friends with babies!!) and my sister is pregnant with her third! How exciting! Well we hope all your summers have been adventurous as well. Happy 24th!

For Grandma I miss You

To the most amazing woman I know. We will miss you always. Grandma you showed me how to do so many things. You battled some of the toughest battles anyone has to go through in this life and were still so happy. Your faith was strong and steady. You were always sure and you made sure we knew you felt that way. You are my shining example. I will strive all my life to live as you did. You were more like a mom than a Grandma. You were so involved in all of our lives and were there to listen to all our silly worries. You never criticized and you always served. You are amazing and you are my hero. I love you.

Thoughts on "The Host"

My Aunt Jean let me borrow her book of The Host and I devoured it this week. Stephenie Meyer has an incredible mind. Anyways I picked up a few gospel hints in the book and was curious if anyone else noticed or if it was me and my too many English courses.
I felt like the book was telling a little about what our struggle on earth is between the Natural man and the "soul." It was an interesting twist. She talked about how the "soul" needed to come to this Earth or else she would never have felt true love and real sorrow. She said that you needed one to have the other. I felt like this is definately what we teach about why we are here. We need to experience these emotions to see the difference between good and evil. She mentioned that being else where she had always been happy but never felt joy until feeling pain.
Anyways I could go on for a while but I just thought it was really interesting and the more I thought about the more curious I got. What did you think?

We Will Miss You Grandpa Trottier

Robert Trottier our Grandpa and Great Grandpa passed away last week at the age of 80. We miss him already but are so grateful for all that he has taught us. He was always happy and like Matt an eternal optimist. He taught us that family is important and essential, that love should not be neglected, and that God knows and loves us. He truly lived the gospel day and night. He loved geneology and traced one line of heritage all the way back to somewhere around the year 280. His slogan for life was "life is wonderful." He said it all the time and even had stickers. We will never forget him.

On the way home from the days festivities yesterday Matt and I were talking about the things we had learned just yesterday (at the funeral and after) about his grandfathers life. We were so amazed at what he had done and gone through and he gave us such hope and excitement for what lies in store for us. It is so amazing to have such great examples of people who have done it have made the most of life even with its challenges. We hope we can live up to the task Grandpa. We love you!

So a few days ago we got a little bored at home and Matt decided to pull out Jaxson's old "bathtub". I honestly can't believe he used to bathe in that duck. Anyways he was having so much fun in it that we decided we'd have a little picture fun with him. I can't believe he kept those glasses on. He loved them. He just kept saying Mom, Dad Glasses. So cute! Well, check them out. I think they are hilariously adorable.

Thoughts on Motherhood

Two years ago it seemed like time went by so slowly and now I just can't seem to slow it down. Jaxson gets bigger every second.
Being a mother is a learning experience every day. Somedays are better than others and as he gets older I find myself wishing all the time that I knew exactly what to do but I suppose no one does. How come all the things they do that you tell them not to do have to be so cute? He is so hard to say no too and I feel bad everytime I do it. Motherhood is hard!
If you know me well it won't surprise you that I have pondered motherhood a lot! I think way too much. I ask myself is this the best possible way of doing this probably 30 times a day. Am I a good mother? Oh no I'm upset calm down. Am I being the mom I want to be? I told you I think a lot.
I don't know if anyone can ever be the mom that they want to be all the time but, I think you can come close. It is constant work and constant improvement. It is love, pure love. It is fear, pain, learning, excitement, joy, and definately entertaining.
When Jaxson was first born I was so excited but so entirely overwhelmed. He was so cute and so little and everything seemed to be going wrong. He was always sick all the doctors thought I was being crazy and I felt so far away from any of the mothers that I knew besides my sister. (but I hate asking for advice anyways) When they finally figured out that their was a problem (just a uti) at primary children's way late at night I was so relieved. I felt awful that I was glad that he had something but I just had known something was wrong and no one but Matt believed me. That is when I first realized how much I loved this little boy. Life for us was definately up and down for a long while. I had no idea what I was doing and everyday I thought I must be doing this wrong. funny how we worry so much. I was so hard on myself and still am but I'm learning. For me at first motherhood was all about the mother I didn't want to be. However, I was unsure how to be the mother I wanted to be. This may sound cruel but my parents divorce took up my entire pregnancy every ounce of my energy was fought in that battle for nine months. It was useless. I felt like everything I knew about parenting, love and marriage was destroyed and honestly it was. My parents tried and sometimes things were good but it wasn't a life I wanted my son to experience. So the first year of Jaxson's life was a new beginning for me one I felt like I had to do by myself. Poor Matt. He tried so hard to tell me all the time that loving Jaxson was enough and that I would and could be a good mother. If you have been through the experience you know. You just have to find out for yourself.
I've come to learn that caring so much is proof in and of itself. The fact that half the time I'm a wreck trying to be perfect says it all doesn't it? I love my son. Maybe one day I will get to a point where I'm not such a wreck and I trust myself more but for now atleast I know I am a good mom just because I'm trying.

This was really one of the neatest things. Matt has Tuesdays off so they are like a Saturday for us. We try and make them as fun as possible but cheap too and this one was great! We heard that the church history museum had a new kids exhibit and even though our little one is not even 18 months we thought it would be fun for us. Believe it or not Jaxson didn't want to leave! There was so much to do there for kids from 1-12 and even us! Here are some pictures of it and the park.

Let me explain a little just in case you can't understand from my pictures. The "I am a Child of God" exhibit takes kids through a little life journey and also shows how to learn about the saviour and the gospel. How to basically just live a good life and learn that you are children of God. You start out going to the hospital. Everyone gets a baby. You get to weigh the baby, wash the baby and even get a birth certificate. Then you get to learn about the scriptures and family. They have books and puzzles and even a mini conference center with talks to children from President Hinckley. There is also a piece of President Hinkley's walnut tree that the kids can touch. Then you get to walk through and find and label each piece of the Tree of life... Lehi's dream. Then you participate (you actually get to dress up) and be part of the manger seen with Mary and Joseph and the Baby. Then there are coloring activities. Temple building...I'll just show you. Everyone really should go!

HAIRCUT

I never realized how much trauma comes from giving little boys haircuts but boy was it ever a battle. I wasn't really sure I wanted to cut it but Matt was ready to get rid of it all! I nearly cried watching my little boy suddenly appear so grown up. It is REALLY cute though! Here are some after pictures and by after I mean way after (when he was a lot happier!)

Matt's Grandfather passed away last week. He was nearing 95 and still laughing! We love him so much and will miss him a lot but are grateful to know he is back with his sweet wife Beth and all his brothers and sisters. We love you Grandpa!

Whose temper is worse? Matt is never ever angry with me. It gets frustrating some times because I feel like such a grump. He is so patient and understanding. It is insane. Who does the laundry? I do just because he's working when I usually get to it but if there is more to do when he gets home he always jumps in.
Who does the dishes? We tend to do them together
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do right now. HA I make him switch so much it must drive him crazy.
Who pays the bills? We have switched back and forth on this one a lot but now we mostly do them together.
Who mows the lawn? We take turns because as weird as this sounds I really like to mow the lawn.

Okay I know I haven't written anything forever but I hardly have time or internet but I was sitting here reading some other blogs of family and friends and felt like I needed to say something. I'm really excited it is October well as you can guess it is pretty fun at our house with two birthdays (Me and Jaxs) and of course Halloween. We love it.
So, here is to an awesome October.
FYI Jaxson's birthday has been finally set to his birthday night. from 6-8 schedule it in if you haven't yet recieved your invite. We had a really hard time finding a night that would work since apparently everything is going on that weekend so it is Tuesday and you all just better come anyways.
Conference weekend was awesome. So many wonderful talks and I have so much to work on. I feel like a lot was said that we all needed to hear. I've heard quite a bit about the priesthood conference and I almost wish I'd have seen that one also. It feels like there is so much that needs to be said about families and I totally agree. Family should be important. I feel like I never understood until a few years back and now that I do I wish that a lot of things about my growing up and situations with my family even now would blow away or just be different. Oh well all I can do is try hard.

Dear Family & Friends

This is probably one of the hardest things I have had to do in my whole life and explaining it is nearly impossible. I've tried everything I could think of to make things work out the way I wanted them to work and finally accepted the fact that heavenly father has another plan for me. Matt and I have decided that I need to quit school. This may come as a complete shock to all of you seeing as I have been and still am a completely determined and committed person but after a lot of tears and discussions about what is more important it just feels right.
I don't want to give up what I do completely but from what we have discussed this just seems like the answer right now. We feel like I need to be doing things but that I need to be doing them at home. If things work out we plan on keeping my computer or finding some miraculous way to get a new one equipped with the programs I need and finding a way to open a business where I can just design invitations and home decor maybe some other things on a scheduled time frame while at home. That way I could focus on our family but still do this when I need to if that doesn't work out then I may just have to give it up completely or try again when I'm a lot older and my kids are grown. Neither of us wants me to let it go completely but we realize that if it doesn't work out that maybe it isn't meant to be.

Alright so I'm going to attempt to tell you seven things you don't know about me but I have a feeling most people will know most of this stuff.
ok so....
1. I love to write and have been writing since I was like oh probably five. I've always wanted to write a book. I went in to college knowing this was what I wanted to do but also knowing I would hate hate hate being an english major (go figure) so I went into journalism and graphic design but soon figured out there is no creativity whatsoever in journalism. So, I just went with graphic design. Which I am currently loving but hoping I finish soon since it takes up so much of my time. ONE MORE YEAR!!! Anyways I've learned that my writing really comes in handy with graphic design. It really helps you to make more creative projects and I'm planning to possibly combine some of my poetry and graphic design into a collaborative book...interesting??

2. I met my husband Matt when I was seventeen and he was eighteen working at a grocery store in Centerville. We became friends instantly but I had just been thoroughly thrown off by guys from some very stupid boyfriends (its highschool) and so I was not at all interested in a boyfriend. We dated as friends on and off for a year until he left for his mission. We wrote the entire mission and I frustrated him beyond no other because I wrote him about more than one boyfriend while he was gone but when he came home it was only him. We were engaged about a month later.

3. I love art and computers but never realized that I could do either until I switched high schools my junior year and had no other option than a computer class to jump into. I guess it just clicked and spiraled from there. After that I was the computer tech sterling scholar, yearbook layout editor, in fbla, student web designer etc. I don't know I guess I picked it up quick and have been messing with it ever since.

4. My 9 month old is braver than I am. I hate hate hate hate being scared. I can not stand it. My husband has been trying to get me to go to a haunted house since the first time we met. I haven't been in one since I was really little. Oddly the first date I went on with my husband was to the ring. He can't get me to watch something that scary now and I haven't seen the ring since.

5. I hate being bored and have to stay busy. It drives me crazy to just sit down most the time. In high school I stayed so busy that I was never home except to sleep because I was in plays and pageants, and yearbook, and scholarship applications and I guess now sometimes I just feel like I've slowed down too much. I just like to keep busy.

6. ok I admit it I'm obsessed with apple and I wouldn't go back to a pc. Don't get me wrong I have a pc and I use it but I love my apple way better. For what I do it just makes sense. They are faster hold more memory and are made to work the way I need them to. Sorry its just so so so much easier. I guarantee if you learned how to use one you'd want it too.

7. If I could learn a talent in a week I would totally become a professional photographer. I know a little because well you have to in order to do graphic design because it is practically essential in order to do personal work. I just wish I could be better. It makes being a designer so much easier and if I loved and could afford school I would probably go and do it but its so much money and i'm overloaded with school as it is...oh well maybe someday.

Which if you don't know is basically establishing a company.(logo, letterhead, business card, etc.) Well, I've been doing stuff for my own company that I would like to open asap. I just don't know what to do and if I could afford it or I'd be doing it tomorrow. Anyways, I wanted to get some feedback on the logo and business card I've done. So, I finally made it to the doctor. He sent me to check to see if it is a hot or cold nodule at Lakeview. Which means next wednesday and thursday I will be going back and forth to the hospital to do the test. After that if its cold they will have to remove half of my thyroid to check for cancer and if it is cancer they will have to remove my thyroid completely. If the nodule is hot we will have to discuss what to do next. So, I'm hoping its hot and we can avoid surgery all together. We will see....

So with my hectic days at home and nights at school. Matt's job, jaxson, my health, we finally had to start making some changes. We were going nuts. I wanted to go school in the days but we didn't figure it out in time. We are hoping we will before September when my next semester starts. We hopefully will get a car and find someone to watch Jaxson. I wanted to keep my schedule full time be staying until ten thirty was killing me so I backed down to two classes at school and two online. Hopefully it will be good until I get things to days. I can only take so many classes online you know just the general stuff and I don't have much of that left.

Well it is almost June. School is going well. Matt just got a new job and Jaxson is well he always is super cute. For the most part the summer has started well for us. I recently talked to a friend whose parents own a gorgeous reception center and plan on selling in the next few years. Wish I could buy it. It is so so so fun and they are building on to it. Most of you probably have been there it is the eldridge manor in Bountiful. It would be cool huh? Matt & I practically passed out that they were going to sell. Well lucky person who gets it.

Our Future Plan

I've had this idea for several years. It gets more intense the more I learn. I've always wanted to open a reception/celebration center. In it or next to it I want to have a studio where people can have me design invites, movies, pictures, ect. It would also be cool to have a caterer, gardener, hair salon, and wedding dress shop. It would be like your all in one wedding center. No need to go anywhere else basically. If anyone has any ideas to help make it come true or make me wake up and say it isn't happening. Well I think it would be cool and I totally want my own studio.

Well it looks like we finally gave in. Everyone else had a blog and so I finally got around to putting one up. It isn't much yet. Sorry fam.
